Nice shot Don
just one minor thing the reference to yenc If you are so concerned
about"yEnc Babble" why bate the pro-yEnc_antiyEnc issue by putting
"non-Yenc" in you subject. Seems to me you me and others should just let
sleeping dogs lie.

By the way you complained I have not been posting any pics how about the
skydiving shots I just posted?

Really nice photos! Keep it up. (With files that large, an index would be
appreciated by the dial-up folks.)

The "NON-yEnc" thingy was just me pulling your chain.

Um, Clair ol' buddy....I said "keep it up" long before all of your flood of
huge photos arrived. Why not post large numbers of photos no larger than,
say, 800x600 MAX, compressed 50-60%, plus an index. Then offer larger
versions by request only? That way, the group may even look at your photos.

Unless, of course, you post hundreds of hanger queens........

i sized them down to 4x6@250 dpi I guess 100 or perhaps 75 dpi would
have worked better

dpi is not the size of the picture, dpi is used to inform the printer how
many dots he must print on a inch of paper.
dpi is also used when you scan a picture, a picture 10 inch wide scanned
with 250dpi would be 2500 pixels wide.
How big a picture would be on the screen of a monitor depends on the
resolution setting of the monitor.
Monitors have standard resolutions like 640x480 - 800x600 - 1024x768 -
1152x864 - 1280x720 - 1280x800 1280x1024
Flat screens use mostly 1280x1024 for best results, wide screens use
1280x720 or 1280x800 depending on the optimal resolution for the monitor.
I prefer a picture posted 1200 pixels wide, as my monitor resolutions are
1280x1024
Many people have now screens with a resolution 1280 wide.
The picture included in this e-mail is 1200x897 pixels.

You make some valid points Dpi multipied by size will give you the Number
of pixels wide and high But i think part of what don was getting at was the
overall size of the imagemsot of my files were aproaching 1 MB which is a
bit large for the NG I will try to make them more like 500k and smaller ion
